Born and raised in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Randy Soller began studying piano at the age of seven. After having the opportunity to play a friends electric guitar at the age of twelve, Randy became infatuated with the guitar. He began taking lessons and writing music , which eventually led to him pursuing a music degree at the University of Arkansas.
After graduating, Randy was performing primarily as a singer/songwriter/guitarist before joining Groovement. Having met drummer Bryan Burkhart years before while playing an opening slot for Fayetteville local band favorite Deacon, the two went on to play together in the Randy Soller and the System power trio before Randy returned to performing solo, writing original music, playing gigs for hire, and teaching private guitar instruction.
In the summer of 2009, Bryan approached Randy with the unique request of playing bass in a new music project he had just formed (which would later become Groovement). Having studied guitar and music composition in college, Randy accepted the challenge and began making the transition from guitarist to bass player. With a few minor adjustments, the transition has gone smoothly and has helped form the foundation of Groovement's rhythmic style.
